 The Gold Coast is a short one hour drive south from our Brisbane car rental branch. PAMPER YOURSELF
The last few decades have seen the Gold Coast mature into much more than just a cheap and cheerful seaside holiday destination. Due to the large number and variety of visitors, the demand for world class services has increased and local businesses are only too happy to provide. You will now find an impressive range of day spas, five star hotels, luxury accomodation, boutique beauty therapies, massage and much more. Most of these services are based within a 10-20km radius from the heart of the Gold Coast which will be a breeze to find using your car hire Australia vehicle. Perhaps the most famous of these is the Palazzo Versace resort which offers a tempting range of luxury treatments.
ENTERTAIN THE KIDS
The Gold Coast has an impressive range of activities for children of all ages. From simply building sand castles on the beach to fully structured adventure playgrounds you will be spoilt for choice. If you are looking for all day activities there are a number of theme parks which you will have to drag the kids from kicking and screaming. Many of the major theme parks are grouped together to the north of the Gold Coast and can be found along the highway a short distance in your Australia car rental.
Dreamworld is the daddy of all the theme parks. It is home to the Big 6 thrill rides for the big kids, and it also has 16 rides for the little kids in a cartoon themed section of the park. But it's not just rides on offer, the Wildlife Experience let's kids get up close and personal with some native australian wildlife, the IMAX screen regularly shows kid friendly movies, and you very likely will have trouble getting your kids to leave. Once you do get them to leave chances are they will fall asleep in the back of your car hire vehicle before you have even left the highway.
NATIONAL PARKS
Heading west from the Gold Coast in your car rental vehicle you will reach the spectacular and awe inspiring McPherson Range.
The first part of the McPherson Range which you will reach is Tamborine Mountain. This is divided into 9 individual National Parks and makes a great place to stop for a quick walk through the rainforest and for something to eat. Because the area is very popular with visitors you may need to park your car hire off the main road, down a side street and walk up to the main street.
Continuing on you will come to the Springbrook National Park. This stunning pristine rainforest is based around Mt Cougal, Natural Bridge, and Springbrook. While the National Park is beautful the drive itself is also part of the adventure. Lamington National Park, west of Springbrook National Park is home to the Lamington Plateau and features even more spectacular rainforest.
